The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 By the moon when it followeth it, 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 And [by] the earth and He who spread it 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! 8 Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed it, 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride, 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they gave him the lie, and hamstrung the she-camel. So their Lord destroyed them for their crime and razed their city to the ground. 14 And He feared not the consequence thereof 15
True are the words of God the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
