Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
