The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
