The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
