The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 They do not expect any reward 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
