The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
