The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]: 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But save him who fears 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
