The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And affirms goodness, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
