The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
