The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
