Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
