The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
