Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and the day in splendour 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and he belied the finest 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
