The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
