The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
