The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And the day resplendent 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
