Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
