The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
