Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
