The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
