The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Almighty God's Truth.
