Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
