The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day in splendour 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
