The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
