The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
