The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
