The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But save him who fears 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 They do not expect any reward 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
