The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And accepts the best, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
