The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
