The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and he belied the finest 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
