Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
