The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
