The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
