The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
