Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
