The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
