The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And affirms goodness, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
