Al-Layl

The Night (Al-Layl)

21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 Will surely be gratified. 21

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
