The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
