The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
