The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
