The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
