The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
