Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 you strive in various ways. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
