The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And accepts the best, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But save him who fears 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
