The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects the best, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
