The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
