The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And denied the best matter, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
