The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
