The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
